Boiler Quality Plates

Boiler quality plates, also known as pressure vessel plates, are produced to make supreme quality carbon steel plates intended for use in welded pressure vessels where notch toughness is important. The steel is killed and can be normalized as it conforms to fine austenitic grain size requirements. Boiler Quality plates are available in various grades that cover a range of tensile strengths, and its versatility explains much of the specification’s popularity. Since boilers and pressure vessels carry high pressure and temperature fluids, and hold low- temperature fluids as well, the steel plates ought to have properties like high strength, toughness, ductility and resistance to corrosion.
